I posted not long ago about a shipment of fish I received after winning an Aquabid auction. A number of the fish did not make the journey to my house. The fish that did survive (20 of 24) are absolutely fantastic fish. Below are two pictures of the Pseudocrenilabrus nicholsi I received in that shipment. The four surviving fish of this species turned out to be three males and a lone female. The dominant male is pictured above. The gender ratio of the group is not the best, considering that my intent is to breed the fish. Fortunately, and I must say astonishingly, the female is already holding a mouthful of eggs/fry. She is barely longer than an inch in total length. It is remarkable. If all goes well, I will be able to grow out the fry and pick out a few females to cross with one of the other two males.
